We Accept Medicaid
What is the difference between Medicare and Medicaid?
Medicare is a program provided by the federal government. It provides health coverage for citizens 65+ and can also provide coverage for people under 65 with a disability. Medicare doesn't restrict eligibility based on income.
Medicaid is both a state and federal program that’s eligibility is based on income. Medicaid requirements range given on the state you live. In Oregon, the state Medicaid is provided through a program called the Oregon Health Plan (OHP). To learn more about the qualifiers visit the OHP website.
Medicare and Medicaid are not mutually exclusive, meaning you can have coverage from both at the same time. Having combined coverage can be extremely helpful. For example, Medicare does not cover the costs of assisted living or other long-term care facilities. Medicaid, on the other hand, has coverage for some of these facilities.
